What is Tag Day
A yearly fundraiser that has been in the WSHS community for the past 20+ years. The support and encouragement are a big part of our music department's success.
All band and orchestra members raise money by collecting contributions in neighborhoods within the West Springfield High School boundaries. Student teams go door-to-door asking for tax-deductible donations and turn in the money collected.
Why we do Tag Day
Thousands of dollars are needed each year to run a complete music program. With the school system's budget cuts, donations from family, friends, and neighbors are needed to support all of the music department programs. This provides thousands of additional dollars that aren’t provided by FCPS and WSHS.
How can you help
Ensure your music student participates! We need adults to help drive students to collection areas, tabulate donations, and help with hospitality and uniforms. No experience is required. On the job training is provided for this one-day event. We can't do this without your help!
